NT Bureau Chennai,
Immortalised are creators, be it writers or artists, through their works. They live on through their creations.
Tamil laureate Surendra Ramaswamy, better known as 'Sura', is no exception. At a function organised at the Santhome Communication Centre here, the contributions of Sura, an icon of Tamil literature, were recalled.
Intellectuals participated in a brain-storming session on Sura's works in the programme organised jointly by Tamil Maiyam, a literary organisation that concentrates on research based on Tamil philosophy, and Mafoi, a recruiting company.
Delivering a lecture on Sura's work, noted critic Gnanakoothan, dwelt on the various aspects in Sura's works ? setting, style, thinking and feeling.
'Sura never tried to confine himself to a particular space. Though he wrote in Tamil, he transcended borders. His thoughts and feelings have universal appeal', he said.
