Ma Foi Academy provides focused industry-oriented training for freshers covering the actual skill-sets looked for by employers, thus improving employability. The Academy has obtained an understanding of the needs of employers to identify the areas of improvement among freshers. Based on the understanding, a team of courseware professionals have designed and developed training courses to enhance the competence of candidates in the job market. Ma Foi Management Consultants Ltd. places over 2,000 candidates across the country every month and its career training division is the backward integration of its existing business. A strong foundation in the recruitment industry gives Ma Foi first-hand knowledge about the key skill sets that employers look for in candidates as well as the areas in which jobseekers need improvement.
Launched in October 2004, Ma Foi Academy has arrived in Mayiladuthurai, armed with the experience and ability to identify and understand the needs of employers across industry verticals. The Academy determines the gaps - curriculum versus industry requirement - and designs, develops and delivers courses to address them. The Academy offers a bouquet of programmes namely CodeCraft, WordCraft, RetailCraft, SalesCraft, TechCraft and IDCraft in the IT, ITES, Retail, Sales, Tech Publishing and Training sectors. Each of the programs will be launched in a phased manner.
Speaking at the function, K Pandia Rajan, managing director, Ma Foi, said, "Ma Foi Academy has come to Mayiladuthurai with the agenda of enhancing employability of candidates and propagating the GEM philosophy (Group Learning, E-Learning, Mentoring), which primarily addresses the educational institutions. Group Learning is the training programme delivered to the students, E Learning is the web forum that will be available for students to interact with the other Academy members on a continuous basis and Mentoring the candidates is the career counseling and guidance that would be provided to the student".
Ma Foi's presence in this region will benefit the large student population by bringing a professional outlook in the area of job search. The job scenario is changing in the secondary and tertiary sectors, in both rural and urban areas in Tamil Nadu, and accounts for larger employment growth.
The general improvement in the economy and rise in international demand for various products have led to growth of job opportunities in the BPO, Marketing, Telecom, Pharmaceutical, Manufacturing and Retail sectors, among others in the state and growth is no longer restricted to major cities, Pandia Rajan pointed out.
Mayiladuthurai is strategically located to cover three neighboring districts of Nagapattinam, Tjanjavur and Tiruvarur and with 5 colleges, 12 junior colleges and 4 service-oriented colleges has a good human resource potential. Furthermore, there are 19 colleges within 80 km radius of Mayiladuthurai.
