TASC Pharma issue
TASC Pharmaceuticals Ltd has raised $50 million through foreign currency convertible bonds (fccbs) issue. The bonds, which are convertible into equity shares after five years at a conversion price of Rs 336.92 per share, will be listed on the Singapore stock exchange, the company has informed the Bombay Stock Exchange.
GHCL net
GHCL Ltd has posted a quantum leap in its net profit for the second quarter ended September 30, 2005 at Rs 23.43 crore as compared to Rs 5.11 crore in the corresponding quarter previous fiscal. Gross sales during the reporting quarter increased to Rs 186.61 crore against Rs 136.50 crore in the same period last year.
Ma Foi unit
Ma Foi has opened a subsidiary in Iselin in the US and will start operations in Bahrain, Qatar, Kuwait and Australia from next year. The human resource consultancy firm has posted total revenue at Rs 144.4 crore and a net profit of Rs 42.8 crore during the January to September period this year.
Nabard help
National Bank for Agriculture and Rural Development (Nabard) will extend venture capital up to Rs 1.45 lakh to help rural entrepreneurs of Punjab and Haryana set up their own marketing outlets. It will provide a grant of Rs 90,000 for opening up of outlets at tehsil, block and village level and Rs 1.45 lakh for opening outlets at district level. The bank will also facilitate marketing linkages for artisans through these outlets.
LG exports
LG Electronics India has reported an export turnover of over $100 million, the highest figure achieved by any consumer durable company in India. The company now eyes an export income of $135 million for the current financial year.
REL award
The Dahanu thermal power station of Reliance Energy Ltd has bagged CII’s National Award of Excellence 2005 in energy management. Tamil Nadu transport and elecrticity minister R. Vishwanathan handed over the award to REL, a company release has said.
IGI diamond
International Gemological Institute (IGI) has unveiled an inscription system Laserscribe in Calcutta whereby people can inscribe the image of Durga in their precious diamond jewellery at the IGI certified showrooms.
HP growth
Hewlett-Packard has recorded a 42 per cent year-on-year growth in sales in x86 servers in India. The company controlled a 23 per cent share in the x86 server market.

Mega Corporation has received the no objection certificate from the Union civil aviation ministry to operate non-scheduled air transport (charter) services.
